Express Weekend to Machu Picchu 3 Days (Nº 1)

Ideal for those who are in Lima on business and do not want to miss this world wonder. With this itinerary you can also explore the Cusco City and feel the Andean atmosphere. If you have no much time this is perfect for you.

Day 1: Lima – Flight to Cusco – Machu Picchu
Day 2: Machu Picchu – Cusco
Day 3: Cusco – Flight to Lima

DAY 1: Lima – Flight to Cusco – Machu Picchu
Arrival from your international flight into Lima airport, you will be met by our representative and assisted to board your local flight to Cusco (please note that if your international flight cannot connect to the local flight, an overnight in Lima will be required). Upon arrival at Cusco airport, you will be met by our Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu representative, as well as by your guide. We take you on a walking tour through this ancient city, once the capital of the vast Inca Empire. Explore the city walking through ornate cathedrals and cobblestone streets; see the local market and stroll the central square where artisans display fine Quechuan handicrafts.
Later we drive to Ollantaytambo, in the afternoon if times permits visit the village and Inca site of Ollantaytambo, which boasts some of the finest Inca architecture known. Later on we take the Train to Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu. The train ride is approximately 2 hours through wonderful cloud forest scenery. (B)

Day 2 Machu Picchu – Cusco
Today you have guided tour of the site with your private guide. Machu Picchu, is one of the world's most celebrated archaeological sites and rightly so. Its location is spectacular. It is nestled in the Andean cloud forest on a high ridge straddling between two mountains with the Urubamba River curling like a snake below it. The mountain scenery surrounding it is magnificent and the site itself boasts some of the finest and more complex Inca architecture known. After visiting the site with your guide, you will take a half hour bus ride down to your Hotel,
At appropriate time, depart by train to Ollantaytambo where you will be transferred to to Sacred Valley or Cusco hotel. (B)

Day 3 Cusco – Flight to Lima
Breakfast and according time, transportation will be provided to be transferred to the airport to take your flight to Lima. (B)
