Machu Picchu & Titicaca Lake 7 Days

Discovering and experiencing the magic of Peru was never easier. With this program you will be able to explore the gems of Peru. We will start in Lima, our thriving capital, where you will witness and enjoy a true cultural melting pot through the both colonial and modern faces of the city. Then we will continue our trip visiting the majestic city of Cusco that welcomes us with its spectacular stone buildings, alleys, and streets. Here we will visit the multiple archaeological complexes in the surroundings of Cusco, complexes that despite the centuries still keep their magnificent and overwhelming presence. After Cusco we will head off to the sacred Incan citadel of Machu Picchu where we will enjoy a trip through centuries of magic, passion and mystery. Finally we will visit Puno and we will contemplate the natural beauty of the highest navigable lake in the world, theTiticaca Lake, whose quaint islands and inhabitants seem to be stopped in time. DAY 1: Lima
Once you arrived in Peru our staff will be waiting for you and give you the welcome at the airport, then you will be transferred to the chosen hotel. 
After resting for a while you will start your tour in Lima visiting the most interesting places in downtown. Lima is known as the" City of the Kings and boats many beautiful historic places to visit such as: the Cathedral, Pizarro's Tomb, the Catacombs of San Francisco, Congress, the Palace of Torre Tagle and some residential and modern neighborhoods, such as San Isidro and Miraflores, not to mention the bohemian district of Barranco. We will visit as well the Huaca Pucllana which is a pre-Incan pyramidal building that had administrative and religious purposes. After, we will visit the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum, where you will find a great quantity of pre-Incan pottery including the biggest collection of erotic Huacos in the world.

  • Overnight in Lima.

DAY 2: Lima/Cusco
You will be transferred to the airport to board your flight to Cusco. Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed at the airport, and then you will be transferred to the chosen hotel. In the afternoon our exclusive city tour starts with a visit to the San Cristobal Plaza, to enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Then, we will visit the San Pedro Market to soak in its local flavors and learn more about the products grown in the area. After this, the Korikancha temple will welcome us in all its magnificence; this temple, whose Quechua name means "Gold Enclosure" still bedazzles us with the thought of its gold covered walls. Then it is turn to visit the Santo Domingo Church and convent. Afterwards, we will walk through San Blas, the Cusco’s artistic neighborhood, until the Hatun Rumiyoc Street, stopping at the Inca Roca Palace, nowadays the seat of the Archbishop, and also at the famous Twelve Angle Stone. We will continue our walk to the Main Square to visit the Cathedral and its valuable and beautiful artistic masterpieces. (B)

DAY 3: Sacred Valley / Machu Picchu
Breakfast then you will be picked up at 8:15 am. Full day excursion to the Urubamba Valley visiting: the archaeological site of Pisac with picturesque and stunning terraced fields on the top of the mountain and the colorful Indian market in Pisac where a mixture of color and tradition will be able appreciated besides will have a good opportunity to try our bargain skills on the free time to interact with the local craftsmen to purchase their hand-made souvenirs. The Valley has a distance of 31 km (19 miles) of Cusco, and an altitude of 2,970 ms (9,700 p), Pisac is located to the entrance of the Sacred Valley and followed by Ollantaytambo, the older town continuously occupied of the American continent. The narrow streets of Ollantaytambo, along with their channels that have not varied from the time Inca, evoke their ancestral inheritance, lunch in a typical restaurant and after we explore Ollantaytambo we take the train at Ollantaytambo train station 2 hours to get Aguas Calientes. DAY 4: Machu Picchu/Cusco
Our tour starts at the break of the dawn. After a hearty breakfast we head off to the Incan citadel of Machu Picchu where we will be able to witness a spectacular and marvelous sunrise. During our 2 hours guided tour we will explore the mysteries and magic of the sacred citadel of Machu Picchu, we will visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sundial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of Three Windows, and various cemeteries. Then you will be given free time to walk around the citadel and enjoy it by yourself. Optionally you can make a trek to Huayna Picchu Mountain, trek that you have to book in advance with us, given that only 400 visitors are allowed daily.  Then we will go back to Aguas Calientes town by bus and later in the afternoon you will board the train back to Cusco. Upon your arrival, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you back to your hotel by bus. (B)

DAY 5: Cusco/Puno
Our trip to Puno is by bus. During this trip, we will stop by certain spots to admire the natural and historic attractions that this route offers. We will visit Andahuaylillas town and its beautiful chapel, and then Racchi or Temple of Viracocha (Incan deity). Afterwards we will enjoy our lunch and we will be able to witness the amazing landscapes of La Raya, the highest and frontier point between Cusco and Puno. Before our final destination we will visit the Pucara Museum and you will have the chance to get one of the local classic ceramic bulls. The arriving to Puno will be, approximately at the end of the afternoon. (B, L)

DAY 6: TITICACA LAKE
You will have a complete day to explore the Titicaca Lake in Puno. Firstly we will visit “Los Uros” which are floating islands with very friendly inhabitants; incredibly these islands are hand made with totora reeds. After, you will visit Taquile Island, a place stopped in time, and whose inhabitants still live under ancestral customs and traditions. You will also have the great opportunity to explore the island and have the best views of the whole lake. We include a lunch box while we are visiting these places.
Our return to Puno will be in the afternoon. (B, L)

DAY 7: Puno - Departure Day
We have a short drive to the Juliaca airport before a flight to Lima. Our services end today after a quick flight back to Lima and transfer to the airport for your ongoing international connection. We can arrange an additional post tour accommodation in Lima or Cusco upon client request. (B)
